In the wake of the powerful earthquake, which devastated the capital of Haiti and surrounding areas, your support of FAMA is needed now more than ever. FAMA is a small organization with the ability to help fill gaps left by large relief organizations. This is a disaster of unimaginable devastation that will require help from individuals and organizations. FAMA’s clinic is run by Adrien Alexander, a certified EMT, who has operated the clinic in Petite-Rivière for 8 years. He is assisted by a volunteer doctor and dentist from Les Cayes and two paid nurses. FAMA's needs will increase as people leave the city for rural areas. FAMA’s commitment to providing medical care existed long before the disaster and, with your assistance, will continue to serve the people of Haiti . FAMA is a unique organization in that there is no overhead, thus allowing 100% of donations to be used to pay the nursing staff and to buy much needed medical supplies and medication. FAMA stands for Famille Amour en Action or Family of Love in Action; your contribution will enable us to continue to reach out to let these extraordinary people know that they are loved in this time of dire need.

FAMA’s mission is to improve the living conditions for people residing in the southwest peninsula of Haiti. Since its inception in 2001, FAMA has successfully operated a Clinic in the rural village of Petite-Rivière (Saint-Jean-du-Sud), providing medical, dental, and pharmaceutical care for thousands of people. This has been accomplished with the help of our faithful supporters.
